Popular ‘Kaanta Laga’ actor Shefali Jariwala’s sudden death has shocked fans across the country. While initial reports claimed she died of a cardiac arrest, Mumbai Police has clarified that the exact cause of her death is still under investigation.
According to reports, Shefali, aged 42, was found unresponsive at her residence in Andheri, Mumbai. She was rushed to Bellevue Hospital around 1 am by her husband Parag Tyagi and three others. Unfortunately, she was declared dead upon arrival. Hospital reception staff confirmed that she had passed away before reaching the facility.

However, contrary to earlier claims of a cardiac arrest, Mumbai Police stated that the cause of death remains unknown. “Mumbai Police received information about the incident at 1 am. Her body has been sent to Cooper Hospital for postmortem. The cause of death is not yet clear,” officials told ANI.
Following the incident, a police team along with a forensic unit visited her Andheri residence to gather evidence. Videos circulating online showed her visibly distraught husband, Parag Tyagi, leaving the hospital with his face partially covered, clearly devastated.
The tragic news first broke through entertainment journalist Vickey Lalwani, who posted on social media: “Shefali Jariwala, the Kaanta Laga girl, is no more.”

Who Was Shefali Jariwala?
Shefali Jariwala rose to fame in the early 2000s with her breakout appearance in the iconic music video ‘Kaanta Laga’ at the age of 20. She later appeared in various music videos and Bollywood projects. She was also a contestant in Bigg Boss 13, and participated in dance reality shows Nach Baliye 5 and Nach Baliye 7 with her husband Parag Tyagi.
Shefali had previously been married to musician Harmeet Singh from the Meet Bros duo, but the two separated in 2009. She married actor Parag Tyagi in 2015.
